Ah, the busy gets even busier! So, what happened during the last 2 months? Speaking about September 6 to October 27 ok, ok…
September 12-14: Maybe I can begin with the successful staging of Miss Bicolandia 2005 which made us busy tabulating the result. (Special thanks to WRI for providing the computers and program for the talent show and pageant night. By the way, my bet won!)
September 17-until now: Been working on the revision of Traffic Violators Info System. Old system is now buggy and additional features should be added. What’s taking me so long!? Can’t help, I still need to attend to some other businesses … I can’t manage an office and do programming works at the same time, huh?
October 18-19: Attended a workshop in Antipolo City (venue: MMLDC) for the LogoShare Project of Galing Pook Foundation and made a presentation of the iGovernance Program of Naga. Ansel should be the one attending but he is not available and Mayor Jesse or Sir Reuel Oliver should be doing the presentation but it all ends up to me! Anyway, It did matter since they said, Naga send a much younger, handsome representative! Whoa! Are they kidding? Younger, true… but not “pogi” (handsome) because in Naga, we only have one “pogi”! hehehe
October 19-21: Back in
Manila October 19 and waited for the Naga Team to arrive.
About
9PM when I arrive in
Kabayan Hotel to meet the Team and stayed over night.
October 20: By Thursday morning, we when to Marikina City to study the implementation of Electronic National Government Accounting System (eNGAS) of Commision On Audit. Marikina… Wat a MIS office they have! A fully air conditioned office with branded PC’s, automatic sliding entrance door, and server worth a million! (I just hope it is not under-used. In Naga, we have a fully-loaded server worth 100K, it serves everything.. I mean EVERYTHING!). Their MIS personnel do not do programming anymore since they bought all systems that run in its server. Just one unpleasant observation I have though… I extremely dislike seeing Marikina having abbreviation of the Mayor (BF and MCF) and clippings and sayings all over the city and cityhall, they don’t have to do that, they are already too popular to be unselfconfident.
October 21: Anyway, day 2, we went to Guiguinto, Bulacan for the same purpose. Guiguinto uses a 400K server for its Real Property Tax Info. Sys. (RPTIS) implementation developed by Bulacan Province’s MIS and clone server for eNGAS. They also use a Business Permit System purchased from Geo-Survey Mapping Institute (GSMI). It’s a shame I forgot the names of the MIS people! But may I thank them and all other personnel for their nice hospitality, I salute you!
October 22: Back to Naga: I became a godfather to Raymund Joson’s daughter Danielle
October 23: GSMI presented their products at the Sangunian Panlungsod. Are we now ready to buy a new satellite map? That’s the question we have to discuss.
Now, I’m getting ready for my proposal to revise RPTIS of Naga. This system should add the following:
- Field Appraisal Assessment Sheet (FAAS) as our old system does not compute Market Value and Assess Value of property.
- Convert it to PIN-based rather than TD-Based.
- Printing of Tax Declaration.
- OR Printing and auto posting of collection entry (Treasury) and some other functions.
The system will be developed using VB 6.0-PHP-MySQL. This will only manipulate the Collection Entry of eNGAS to avoid double-encoding as experienced by Marikina and Guiguinto. I’m planning to ask for a budget of 150K to 200K for this proposal. The budget is meant to compensate contractual junior programmers to do most of the data entry modules.
October 26: I have to create a new topic about this but may I just apologize to Graciella Peters from Colombia of ITC (The Netherlands) for not showing up for an interview. I have to attend to my daughter’s Little Miss UN activity at school. Anyway, apology was accepted and the meeting is scheduled today.
What else…. Oh yes, been working with Grass Art Collection Web Site.. I still need to refine some of its functions. (Thanks to Ansel for the design) and Still under construction is the La Mode website. Probable URL will be lamodeph.com
